Obiter Bio:
Antoni alias Obiter was born in Hamburg in 1993,
Learning Saxophon and Piano he was early on influenced by his mother who was getting him into jazz and soul. After playing in a big band for 5 years he started listening to more electronic music. Hearing Daft Punks Discovery album blew his mind. Exploring every part of the upcoming electronic music he fell in love with almost every subcultural part of it. Finally in 2013 he randomly heard Dillon – Thirteen Thirtyfive (Lee Foss & MK remix) and he was blown away. Those Hihats the Bassline the Rhythm. That was it. The next day he got on Ableton and started to recreate what he heard.
It took his while to figure out what the sound was he was going for. Big influences like MK, Sidney Charles, Truth be told, DJOKO and Luca Secco & Craftkind showed him a direction. Slowly but gradually he found out what he liked about all those Artists and combined it with his own touch.
In 2014 he started studying IT in Flensburg. In the Kaffeehaus he started to learn how to properly play records and Dj. Learning Vinyl before being able to play there was a key moment he didn’t recognize at that time. Firstly playing every Wednesday for 7-9 hours and in the end having his own nights on Friday and Saturdays evolved his passion for music.
In 2016 he met the guys with whom he later found Verflixt & Zugedröhnt in Hamburg. A party series that had continues success from the beginning on. That opened doors for him to actually play in clubs, he would have never imagined to play in.
After playing in Hamburg frequently for 3 years now, Obiter met Marian and Philip at BAALSAAL. He has been a big fan of their Party Series Groovement for years.
Whilst playing in Hamburg he kept studying Ableton and evolved his sound. In November 2017 he released his first track on Re-Play Records (UK). Quickly followed up by his release on Detection a month later. That got him hooked on producing finally getting a peak into the scene. Now more than a year later he released on Moustache Label, Spira Music, Detection Audio, Re-Play, HOUSE JACKIN. and Deepside Recordings.
For 2019 plans are already in work. While working with the Groovement Collective closely together he has already signed an Ep on Grenade Records (UK), Single with BROKER on OVRDOSE(NL), Collaboration with Phineo on OKNF(US), single for Groovements Compilation and released 2 new Tracks on Re-Play and Detection Audio.
For the first time he is able to connect to people with the same passion and work with them. This is just the beginning.
