NELL SHAKESPEARE

Probably learned to dance before she learned to crawl...

There's always a song to be sung with Nell and since trying out a season in Ibiza in 2009, she was pushed onto a stage in the infamous West End.
This led her to scoring a full-time job with a band, jumping in at the deep end of being a jobbing singer and guitarist. Fast forward spending her twenties and beyond up to now, taking up permanent residence on the magical island and fronting various bands playing everything from rock, funk, ragtime, jazz and then made Pacha magazine frontin' a 14-piece strong house orchestra, which impressed the likes of Carl Cox at the IMS in Space.

Her voice started showing up on records and she teamed up with producers David Coker and Dylan Debut, forming tongue-in-cheek dirty disco and garage stompers as Powder Monkeys, gaining some great releases on Street King, Moulton, Black Riot, Midnight Riot, Zooted and Booted and Doin Work.

She's also written and released tracks with Todd Terry, Drop Out Orchestra, Secret Soul Society, Birdee and Pete Le Freq.

She also loves to get behind the decks, herself, of course.
