CASUALTY BROTHERS

When Si Burtron and Audio Spyder first met, a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, they immediately knew they were kindred spirits. Well, there were definitely spirits involved and copious amounts of Guinness and cider as well!

Both were DJing individually at the time and had come to their styles via very different musical routes ‘n’ cultures. However, through a shared passion for music , especially dance music and electronica, an unhealthy fixation with Sci-Fi and a ton of humour, the Casualty Brothers were born.

It wasn’t long before the duo were promoting and playing at their own nights and inviting an eclectic mix of DJs to join them on the decks at various venues in and around North and East London. The result was a lot of messy nights that sent punters home mashed and happy.

On a drive for constant misguided adventures the boys then decided to turn their talents to producing tunes using ancient second hand gear and with a deliberate intention to not choose one pathway. Alas, before anything got released life got in the way and the boys, by default human design, had a go at adult-ing.

FFWD a fair number of years to spring 2016 and Si Burtron stumbles across some dusty old DAT tapes, an icon asks Audio Spyder to remix a House classic and the boys contribute a very last minute track, ‘Something More’ a tech-house chugger, to Smokin Joe Records LDN’s charity album for Autism “We’re Autastic!” and that was all in the same week! Fate was calling and Casualty Brothers answered LOUDLY!

Audio Spyder now heads up online radio station www.breaklondon.org and has his own show ‘The Spangled Web’. Si Burtron hosts a weekly radio show 'Mixed Up Mondays' on Mayhem Live www.mayhemproductionz.com and also helps support Smokin Joe in their restless quest to promote quality underground dance music. If anyone is reading this and can lend the the boys a fiver or the odd tin of soup they would be grateful.

From Jackin to House to Tech to Breaks and anything else that takes their fancy, Casualty Brothers only believe in one genre of music… Great Music!
