DE-GENERATION RECORDS

Is the result of a process of generational integration among past, present and future. It represents a new beginning, a philosophy of life. Everything stems from a shared reflection where young people are a vantage point of social change and (even more) evolution of the relationship between politics and society.

Today, the combination of words such as “young”, “participation” and “politics” evokes a sense of deep contrast, of unbridgeable distance. Young people live in a sort of “limbo” where their place in society, culture and politics is lost. We are witnessing the gradual “de-generation” of the welfare state; young people find themselves absorbed by a process of transformation (“de-generation”) which involves society, patterns of behavior, values and ideologies, emotions; this is a transformation (“de-generation”) that promotes a state of isolation, confusion and uncertainty. In today’s cultural landscape, the existential journey of each individual unfolds against the backdrop of a widespread condition of instability, turbulence, temporariness of values, goals and life plans, with a marked propensity to act through dysfunctional choices and behaviors (“de-generations”) that eventually lead to physical and psychological risks (which are sometimes particularly high). These dynamics (“de-generations”) – complex and often not linear – have determined in recent years a difficult process of identity development, in both emotional and affective terms, and have hindered the acquisition of adequate capacities of “mentalization” and relationship. In addition to all of this, low education, low employment and unemployment are slowing down the achievement of our autonomy by encouraging the consolidation of a disillusioned and cynic attitude towards work and training, with an emphasis on the uncertainty that inevitably affects the individuals’ own autonomy. “De- generation” intends to be the cultural megaphone for this social reality through the channel we believe is the most suitable to represent this social limbo in which we find ourselves up to our necks: music!
