Piston Recordings is proud to present yet another outstanding release from Ritz, who has been consistently delivering quality music for us since 2016, with over 50 releases under his belt. His tracks have become weekend weapons for many of his fellow DJs, and regularly top the charts. Ritz's unique sound is also showcased on his own label, Left Hook Recordings. While he rarely performs live sets, when he does, it's always a special occasion, featuring only his own productions. It's an honour to have Ritz as a part of our family and we can't wait to see what he has in store for us next, but for now, wrap your ears around his new ‘Full Effect EP’.

‘Full Effect’ opens the release with in true Ritz style by getting us right down to business. The intro boasts a smooth rhythmic percussions pattern which is joined by a cool fading chord. Chunky beats take control as a rapid spoken narrative tells a tale. The track is capped off with a groovy bassline and rich strings that bring a vibrant vibe to the sound. ‘Good Times’ is the perfect title for this next track as we’re guaranteed a good time dancing to the upfront, fresh groove. Well rounded kicks and shuffling hats lead the way as rhythmic percussions build. Sweeping chord pads with a chopped effect add bounce to the groove as a thick plucky bassline keeps the toes tapping. We see Ritz’s attention to detail shine once more with hi-strings and expert FX injected in just the right places. ‘Slick’ rounds out the EP and takes a more organic route thanks to live sounding drums and beautifully crafted natural sounds which are filled with rich harmonics. The drums become infectious and will definitely get the body moving, getting lost in the beauty of the melody is what this track is all about. Wonderfully wide and dynamic, the sound captivates the mind while keeping that urge to dance at the fore. Superb stuff.
