SAEdeep returns to Piston Recordings with his latest offering titled Wake You Up EP’. SAEdeep continues to showcase his exceptional talent and unique sound. Emerging from the rich musical landscape of South Africa, he has already made a significant impact on the scene, debuting his early tracks on the prestigious SA-based label, Deep Clicks Music. His music emanates a refreshing and authentic vibe, characterized by deep flavours that seamlessly align with Piston's musical ethos. ‘Wake You Up’ opens the release with a nice punchy kick alongside an eerie chord sequence with a touch of vibrato which adds movement to the sound. Chunky analogue basses come through along with a cool vocal and sweeping FX as layered percussions get the rhythm moving. Top-notch and a must have. Up next, we have ‘Blended Berry’ which opens with phat kicks and mesmerizing chords that layer up to become rich with contrasting depth and brightness. Cool percussions add strength to the groove as stark, stabbing chords join in, setting up a trip to the dancefloor beautifully. ‘Far Away From Home’ concludes the release and, keeping with the theme of the EP, the intro boasts a nice thick kick drum and smooth chord pad. Snappy claps and crispy hats come through as deep basses and infectious keys create depth in the groove. Raspy vocals and subtle ambience combine as exotic percussions take us to the break. The final act reveals a toy piano melody that stands out amongst the darker elements, striking a rich balance in the groove. Superb stuff that is not to be missed.
