Continuing to add new talent to their roster, Nikko.Z's Dopamine White welcomes Gergo Bischof to the label for his debut EP. Previously known as Gregory Galahad; Hungarian born, Austria based artist Gergo Bischof adopted his given name as a new artist moniker last year in search of fresh start and sound. Releases via Dear Deer, Hollystone, Traum and his own Triskelion imprint were the vehicles for Gergo's progressive sound, making him an emerging talent to watch going forward. Now, following his ‘The Price We Had To Pay' single to begin the year, Gergo debuts on Dopamine White with a three-track showcase entitled ‘Traun'.
Comprised of three distinctive and equally compelling creations, it is the rippling grooves and striking percussion of ‘Traun' which set the tone for the EP. Instantly seductive, its hopeful atmospheres and panoramic effects create a colourful canopy for warm beats and mountainous bass tones to deliver an enticing narrative. A well-crafted break sits at the heart of the journey, flowing through effervescent arps, tension filled electronics and timely modulation, before uniting for an exhilarating drop and suitably large finale.
Selection two ‘Heimat' finds Gergo composing with a strong sense of rhythm and groove. Fluid and deep in equal measure, an evolving effects chain plays off melancholic chord changes, as flashing percussion and pixie-like melodies unite in a perfect sonic marriage. The Traun resident flexes his free-thinking muscles across a memorable break, as morphing structures and hypnotizing effects take centrestage, eventually transferring energy into a murky, key changing conclusion.
The release's final selection ‘Nachtzug Nach Linz' finds Gergo showcasing a deeper side of his repertoire, as he expertly works effervescent lines over a warm lazy groove and strong yet spacious percussion. Looking to bring more emotion across the break, it's a bed of broken beats which serves as the foundation for heartfelt melodies and impassioned phrasing to spearhead a finale that should prove highly effective during the morning hours.
