For the 102nd release on Perspectives Digital, we're honored to welcome Markus Klee and Tomy Wahl, a seasoned pair of artists and stalwarts of the modern Melodic House and Techno movement.

Markus Klee has had a marked impact on the German club scene playing an integral role in its development. A chance opportunity behind the decks quickly shone a light on hidden talents, as the self-taught DJ from Berlin became a prominent figure across the capital at the likes of Sisyphos, Kater Blau, Birgit, Renate, among many others. Moreover, as his success grew, Markus became a resident at the globally renowned Ritter Butzke. A production career that began in 2016 has seen the German producer quickly establish himself with a select portfolio of releases that have featured on 3000Grad, Bar 25 Music, Criminal Bassline, and of course Ritter Butzke Records.

Argentinean star Tomy Wahl needs little introduction. A legendary figure across the clubs of his homeland with performances at Crobar, Pacha, and Bahrein, Tomy has captivated club-goers the world over in a host of European cities that include Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam, as well as touring through South America in Florianopolis, Curitiba, Bogotá, and onto the Indian sub-continent. Able to effortlessly blend Melodic Techno, Progressive and Afro House, Tomy has witnessed almost 750 production credits on Stil Vor Talent, Selador, and Eleatics Records, to name but a select few.

Coming together for the first time as a collaborative force, "Haze" opens up at the 2 minute mark with a sublimely placed analog arpeggio that glides across the sonic landscape in elegant juxtaposition to the rhythmic elements. Rising and falling alongside a sustained piano chord, all instruments build out of the beatless breakdown into a rhythm-fueled melodic monster in the latter stages.

Although opening with a similar pounding kick, machine gun-fire bassline, and syncopated percussion, "Nitenine" is a thrilling tech infused offering that drives relentlessly forward with a hefty kick and ticking 16th note shakers. A metallic bassline provides substance as it occasionally breaks into a stuttered fill before a loquacious vocal sample supplies menace and intrigue. Pausing for breath at the breakdown, the track erupts once more post-breakdown into a devastating, seething club monster.

Perspectives Digital head honcho Darin Epsilon contributes to the EP with a typically ebullient remix. Fresh from the landmark 100th release on his label, which featured high-profile remixes of his most noteworthy tracks by DJ CHUS, Sasha Carassi, KIKO, and VONDA7, the esteemed producer and DJ from the US has reworked "Haze" in typically majestic fashion. Taking the core rhythmic energy of the original mix with its mesmeric vitality, Darin has a created a spine-cracking kick and rolling bassline backdrop that fizzes with white-noise power. Carefully reworking the melodic themes inherent in Markus Klee and Tomy Wahl's production, Darin's skill is to extend the cadenced synth stab so prominent in the original and create a new melody that soars in powerful Melodic Techno fashion. Adding a complementary arp adds to the dynamism as a familiar piano chord makes its presence heard. Hitting its stride once more post-breakdown, Darin's remix is a sonic triumph.

Born in Sofia, Bulgaria at the end of the Socialist era, Pavel Petrov was raised in a time when western cultural influence swept across the capital, bringing with it a new wave of musical inspiration. Emerging from the ashes of the post-communist era was a vibrant electronic dance scene in which Pavel was regarded as a music selector by his peers whilst becoming an internationally respected DJ and producer. With a background in music and natural talent, Pavel's desire to express his musical creativity developed and started to take shape in the studio. His music is regularly selected by trendsetters like Adriatique, Maceo Plex, Carl Cox, Joris Voorn, John Digweed, and dozens more. Pavel now makes his Perspectives Digital debut with a chunky, rhythmic remix of "Nitenine". Retaining the central elements of the original and reversing the vocal sample in staccato phrases, a slower-tempo offering thrills with well-placed new melodies and stereo-panned effects. The result is an innovative interpretation that evolves in easy fashion as new sonic layers are introduced, before being stripped away as the rhythmic backdrop takes hold once more.
