Canadian music producer Trevor Gordon makes a welcome return to Piston Recordings alongside South African DJ and producer Matt Prehn - who is making his label debut, with the superb ‘Feel The Sky’. Trevor embarked on a journey to master the art of house music production after drawing inspiration from icons in the music industry like Ian Pooley, Olav Basoski, and Kerri Chandler. With his distinctive deep house sound, he has captured the attention and admiration of renowned artists worldwide. He continues to deliver exceptional music, and we are thrilled to have him back once again. Capetonian DJ and Producer Matt Prehn's musical journey started in the mid-90s when vinyl ruled and social media didn't exist. Inspired by the sounds emanating from SA's underground clubs and after-hour parties Matt began producing his own music and later founded Oh So Coy and Rogue Decibels, the labels amassing over 200 digital and 10 vinyl releases to date. He's been recognized as one of the Traxsource Top 100 Deep House Artists and has released music on acclaimed labels such as Large Music, i! Records, King Street and Tango. With a career spanning 20+ years Matt has performed locally at Truth, Era, We House Sundays, Mzolis and gigged internationally in England, France, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic and Amsterdam.

Opening the release we have the Day Mix which intros with a pumping 909 kick drum and bright, crispy hi hat combo. Swirling pads and warm chords come through as a cool vocal makes way for a deep, lush bassline and cascading keys. Subtle melodies weave through the groove adding rich textures that translate beautifully to the dancefloor. The Dark Mix concludes the release and offers up a much deeper groove with a more minimal design. Chunky beats and crispy hats are stacked with rhythmic percussions while a subby bassline controls the flow brilliantly. Cool vocals and airy pads are complimented by melodic keys and chords to create a solid mover that will not disappoint.
