Blacksole Enertainment is proud to bring you Eduardo Von Dee's first EP entitled Complexitivity. He has enjoyed some success with past collaborations with artists such as The LB and Mr Gabibu and has put forth his second solo attempt by introducing two of his own creations for you to enjoy.
Eduardo Von Dee (his mom calls him Thulani Gebuza) started spinning vinyl at a tender age of 14, majorly influenced by S.A DJ greats such as Dj Ganyani, Dj Vetkuk, Evidence Kemp, Dj Crooks, to name a few. He started off by playing cassette mixtapes from some of these people and emulated what they did. He mastered his art when a friend of his bought his first turntables and they went on to woo crowds soon after. When he got to Grade12 he learnt how to compose ringtones on monotone mobile phones and soon after, was introduced to the world of DAW's. He's never looked back since.
The EP comprises of 2 tracks, namely "Down the Trail" and "Paintin' It Jazzy". The former was mainly inspired by one of his greatest influences, the late Jimmy Smith. It fuses rich, sultry tones from a B3 organ and gentle notes from a Grand Piano, laced on a deep, soulful tune. The latter takes on a more "live" feel, introducing a Cello, Pan Flute and, of course, the Piano. No need to sweat when dancing to these two tracks, just close your eyes and let them take you on a journey.
