Artist: Melokolektiv & ADN
Title: Baltimore Ep
Ref: SSOH54
Label: SSOH
Publishing : Topolino Bello (CM MUSIC)
The aesthetics belonging to old-school house music have long played a pivotal role in the make-up of Claude Monnet's SSOH imprint. That should come as little surprise to ardent observers, not least because the label was actually founded back in the mid 90s, a time when true, house music was at its zenith.
A similar approach to the genre has long been SSOH's modus operandi, and if the label's latest inclinations are anything to go by, they're in as fine a fettle as its ever been. SSOH54 sees French upstart Melokoletiv (Crosstown Rebels/ Deart Deer) and Dj ADN take control, with the
BALTIMORE Ep proving an enticing insight into his knack for churning out grooves of a classic persuasion. Draped in some canny percussive tools and with a restless swagger at its core, the original bumps and grinds and picks up engrossing sounds on the way, with its off-kilter synths and particularly, its vocal, helping to lend it a tangible human edge.
Rough, raw and most definitely ready for the floor, A seriously effective slice of house music that discerning types are sure to revel in.
Early support from:
Marco Carola - Dave Angel - Horse Meat Disco - The Deepshakerz - Cj mackintosh - Robert Owens - BlackSoul - Mousse T - Warren Clarke house connection - Jask - Kiko Navarro - Freddy Turner
