SIR JAMES

From the lakes of Minnesota to San Francisco's underground electronic scene, Sir James has carved a unique path in dance music. Born James Bachmeier in Saint Paul, Minnesota, his journey into music began early, shaped by a household filled with classic rock and Austrian folk songs. He started singing and playing guitar at a young age, developing a musical foundation that would later help shape his career as an artist.

Before pursuing music full-time, James completed law school and then built a successful tech company with his best friends from high school. As a now decade-long San Francisco resident, James has immersed himself into the city's vibrant dance scene and expanded his musical influences from Bob Dylan, Prince, and Bruce Springsteen to Rüfüs Du Sol, Kaskade, Artbat, Jan Blomqvist, John Summit, Lane 8, LP Giobbi and Nora En Pure. In his productions, he hopes to continually blend organic textures from guitar, piano, analogue synths and the human voice.

Beyond the studio, Sir James is an advocate for artists. He is an investor and community member of The Loom, a community project in Oakland that provides an affordable campus with studio access to creatives while offering education on the business side of music and art.
