GRECO SOUL

Born & raised in Athens, Greece (that's how the "Greco" came up) he always puts his soul into everything he does (and that's how the "Soul" brought out).

Greco Soul introduced himself through some successful Bootlegs like "Luxuria", "Your Loving Arms", and "Lose My Breath" which have been supported by artists like Eddie Amador, Tedd Patterson, Doug Gomez and many more (can be found on his Bandcamp).

In chronological order he has releases in Arawakan Records, Double Cheese Records, HSR Records, Retrolounge Records, House Tribe Records, Electric Friends Music, Pasqua Records, King Street Sounds, Dopewax Records and Unquantize Recordings.In these labels he has official remixes and collaborations with Rocio Starry, Stones & Bones, Luyo, Eaze, IQ Musique, AbysSoul, Young DJ, Dany Cohiba, Michelle Rivera, Christos Fourkis, Van Drea, Ioan, Blaq Owl, Shay dT, Venessa Jackson, Greg Lewis, Thommy Davis and DJ Spen. Almost all of his releases are featured & charted in Essentials, Weekend Weapons & Hype Chart of Traxsource and often entering the top 100.

The most blessing time in his carreer until now, will come in 2023-4 where he signs his releases "Afranatoli" and "Move Ya" in Dopewax and Unquantize respectively. Labels owned by artists he has been a fan of since his teenage years! In Unquantize DJ Spen, Thommy Davis & Greg Lewis will also release an official remix of his "Move Ya" entering all the charts within Traxsource, sitting within the top 100 of Afro House for days, and getting love & support from several artists.

His sound is influenced from myriads of different backgrounds. His roots from his mother's side from Smyrna (today's Izmir, Turkey) and from his father's side from Kommeno in Arta (Epirus, Greece) have created a remarkable music heritage running through his veins. As he likes to say: "its funny how many similarities you can find in traditional music between countries which are miles away from each other. Clapping, whistling, polyphony, hand made instruments and dancing around the fire is a living proof how we are all brothers & sisters".

His beats, percussion, bass sound & chord progression are mostly affected by the 90s & 00s sounds of labels like Defected, Strictly Rhythm, Nervous & artists like Frankie Knuckles, Tony Humphries, Todd Terry, Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, David Morales, Reel 2 Real, Roger Sanchez, Dennis Ferrer, DJ Spen, Bob Sinclar, Copyright + others.
His pads, strings, atmospheric sounds & melodies are inspired by artists like Vangelis Papathanasiou, Yanni Chryssomallis, George Katsaros, Marios Tokas and mostly Greek music producers.
His vocal melodic ideas are affected by the work of artists like Bob Marley, Salif Keita, Cesaria Evora, Fela Kuti, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Barbara Tucker, Lisa Shaw, Ultra Nate, Crystal Waters & Jocelyn Brown (just to name a few).

In conclusion, Greco Soul is a multitalented self-taught Producer, Lyricist, Vocalist and DJ. Hence, if you ever be in one of his gigs you will experience various genres mixed smoothly under the roof of House Music. Often you may get the chance to hear him mixing with live instruments like Saxophone, Percussion and Vocals (where he also performs too).
